Workforce Development

ABC member companies annually invest an estimated $1.6 billion to build a construction workforce that is safe, skilled and productive using flexible, competency-based and market-driven education methodologies. This all-of-the-above approach to workforce development has produced a network of ABC chapters and affiliates in 1,400 locations across the country that offer more than 800 apprenticeship, craft, safety and management education programs—including more than 300 U.S. Department of Labor-registered apprenticeship programs across 20 different occupations—to build the people who build America.

Registered Apprenticeships:

The Construction Industry Training Council of Washington (CITC) is a state-licensed, vocational trade school for the construction industry offering training throughout Washington State. Whether you are an employer wanting to standardize a career path for your field employees, or an individual looking to improve your current skills or begin a career in construction, CITC can help you succeed! Learn more at https://citcwa.org/ .

In-House Training / Non-Registered Apprenticeship:

ABC Inland Pacific has member companies who offer in-house training that models apprenticeship but are not registered with the state. Check out these companies on our member directory at http://www.ipcabc.performancepublishing.net/ .

Career and Technical High Schools:

We build partnerships with area High Schools to make career and technical education a viable and desirable option for high school graduates. Job opportunities in the construction field are endless, offering careers with huge earning-potentials.

Summer in Construction Program:

This program is based on the NCCER Core Curriculum, which is an 80 hour program with nine learning modules covering aspects of basic construction skills, OSHA 10 hour training, First Aid/CPR Training, and interviewing and employability techniques. This program aims to fill the skills training gap for those entering the construction industry. The Basic Training Summer in Construction Program positions students who complete the training to be ready to work in the construction industry with the basic skills necessary.

Construction Outreach Events:

ABC Inland Pacific is continually promoting careers in construction on behalf of our members. We participate in multiple events such as:
