OSHA Releases Top 10 Violations for 2013

The U.S. Department of Labor’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) has announced the preliminary Top 10 most frequently cited workplace safety violations for fiscal year 2014.

Last year, several U.S. Departments issued their final ruling on wellness programs within the workplace to comply with the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act. Proposed Workers' Compensation Rates for 2015

The Department of Labor & Industries (L&I) is proposing an average 1.8 percent rate increase for 2015 workers’ compensation premiums.

The proposed premium increase will help cover wage and disability benefits, as well as medical costs for treatment of injuries and illnesses. It will also allow L&I to continue to build reserves to protect against the unexpected.

OSHA Extends Comment Period on I2P2 Tracking Proposed Rule

OSHA has extended the comment period on the proposed rule to improve tracking of workplace injuries and illnesses to Oct. 14, 2014. The proposal would amend the recordkeeping regulation to add requirements for the electronic submission of injury and illness information.

OSHA Expands Requirements for Reporting Fatalities and Severe Injuries!

final rule announced Sept. 11 requires employers to notify OSHA when an employee is killed on the job or suffers a work-related hospitalization, amputation or loss of an eye. The rule, which also updates the list of employers partially exempt from OSHA record-keeping requirements, will go into effect on Jan. 1, 2015 for workplaces under federal OSHA jurisdiction.
