In 1954, Walt and Elaine Hiatt started Walt’s Mailing Service in the basement of their home to help local businesses. In those early years the mailing lists were run on a continuous strip of paper and rolled into the shape of a cylinder like adding machine tape. Then using a hand held machine each address was cut and glued to a mailing piece. Now, they handle all sorts of direct imprint addressing and variable data printing. They can also handle up to 200,000 mail pieces per day.

OSHA Releases Final Rule Concerning Silica for the Construction Industry

On Monday, March 28, 2016, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) released a final rule that would drastically lower the permissible exposure limit (PEL) of respirable crystalline silica for the construction industry. The changes are scheduled to take effect on June 23, 2016. Construction employers must comply with the requirements of the standard by June 23, 2017, except for requirements for laboratory evaluation of exposure samples, which begin on June 23, 2018.

U.S. Department of Labor's Final Persuader Rule

Status:
On March 23, 2016, the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) released a final rule that will drastically redefine “persuader” activity under Section 203 of the Labor-Management Reporting and Disclosure Act (LMRDA). The final rule is scheduled to take effect on April 25, 2016 and applies to arrangements, agreements, and payments made on or after July 1, 2016. The final persuader rule is likely to be challenged in Congress and the courts.
