OSHA Proposes Revisions to Eye and Face Standards

OSHA recently published a proposal to revise personal protective equipment requirements in the agency's general industry, shipyard employment, long shoring, marine terminals and construction standards. The proposal, if enacted, would align OSHA’s eye and face protection standard with the latest ANSI consensus standards on eye and face protection. OSHA also plans to update the construction eye and face protection standard to make it more consistent with general industry and maritime standards.

Safety Awareness Tips

Safety Awareness is like almost everything else we is learned, not instinctive. We aren't born with awareness for safety fact anyone who has a young toddler or grandchild knows this first hand as they see them going around doing unsafe things constantly.

Occupational Medicine Best Practices

Fact:  Less than 10% of workers’ compensation claims account for more than 80% of total expenditures.

What may be most surprising is that more than 90% of these high cost claims are non-catastrophic soft tissue conditions.

Although there are plenty of opinions about what causes disability syndrome and the problems with our workers’ compensation systems, only a few practices appear to be able to reduce work-related, long-term disabilities.
